Frustrations of an Author with Writer's Block

Sorry about the lack of postage yesterday. I was trying to committ Chapter 5 to writing, but I am not having much success. So far, all I've got are three sentences that I'm not very happy with. I'm sorry it's taking so long to get Chapter 5 up; it's taken way longer than I planned. I'm going to try to finish it by the end of the week.

What stinks is that I had the beginning all planned out and the end all set too, but nothing for the middle. Actually, I put in the dude with the shotgun on a whim and he didn't fit in with my pre-planned storyline and dialogue so I'm essentially back to square one now. Stupid, I know. I thought the story needed some action so I wrote him in. I had no idea that doing so would lead to weeks of writers block. And it's too late to take him out of it.

Actually, now that I think about it, shotgun man came about because I needed a convincing way of getting David to both spare Elizabeth and take her in, which is what's going to happen next. Unfortunately he screwed up my plans for transitioning into Chapter 5, so that's why I'm stuck.

Just as a heads-up, posts now will be few and far between until Chapter 5 is completed as I'm going to devote the vast majority of my creative juices.

i can relate.

Put on a Detroit Tigers hat!! Only it has to be from Detroit, bought when they are about to go into the world seiries, and full of positive energy.

Good luck with that.
