Wow. Two Days in a Row...

I know, it's been forever since I had two posts in two days. You can stop applauding now.

In all of the Thanksgiving Madness, I completely forgot that The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess has been released! This is the one game that I absolutely, positively, must-must-must-must-MUST get! I've been waiting for this for almost three years I-kid-you-not ever since it was announced. Nintendo kept pushing back the release date (curse you Shigeru Miyamoto!) but it looks like it was worth it! (sorry Mr. Miyamoto. I un-curse you now. No hard feelings, right?)

I could go on and on and on and on *copies and pastes that 1,000,000 times* and on and on about how cool Twilight Princes is, but plenty of others have already done that. Just Google it and see. Plus, if I did, then this post would become extremely long and you'd all stop reading it.

So yeah, I was playing The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on my GameCube over the weekend (I got the disc when I preordered Wind Waker) and realized that the game would make an awesome movie. Then I realized that the game is way too huge to turn into a movie, and if they did they'd have to cut out all of the side quests and a good chunk of the main quest, and making a ton of sequals, viz the Harry Potter films, would take way too long and be way to expensive, not to mention that there would be a cliffhangar ending at the end of each movie (and we all know how Ali feels about cliffhangars). So then I realized that it would make a darned good TV miniseries (Think Into the West). Since most big-budget miniseries and made-for-TV-movies hire Hollywood actors nowadays, we could still get some big names involved.

My question to you is this: If Ocarina of Time was ever made into a movie/TV miniseries, who should be cast in it? Yes, this is like that Star Wars thing I did a while back, so please comment your answers. At present, I'm only concerned with the three central characters

  • Link
  • Princess Zelda
  • Ganondorf

I'm worried about the adult versions of the characters, so if you don't know squat about Ocarina, don't panic. If you do know about the game, I'd be interested in seeing your ideas for the other characters, like Talon and Malon, Impa, King Zora, Saria, etc. To give you some ideas, I can see Ewan McGregor as Link; Kate Winslet as Zelda; and as for Ganondorf, hmm, this one's tough, maybe Arnold Schwarzenegger?... But those are just my ideas, and I'd really like to see yours. I'll give you a week to comment your ideas before I post my favorites.

Also, Chapter 7 is underway. Expect it in a day or two.

No. No movie. Zelda as a movie is like Super Mario Bros. or Doom or House of the Dead. All three were IMMENSELY BAD!
